1. The texture was great, outside nice and crunchy, inside nice and moist. The flavor just wasn't quite right, I will try again with more salt.

 2. This was awesome!!!! I made it just as directed except I, too, had to add about 3 or 4 tablespoons of water to the dough. Mine also took about 30 minutes to raise after forming instead of 10-15 minutes. (That may have been because I had the AC on...) Anyway, it had such a wonderful texture and great taste. The overall flavor of the bread with the garlic powder and parmesan together was absolutely delightful! Much better than other french bread recipes I've tried before!!!! My DH loved it and this will definitely be a recipe I'll use over and over...Thanks so much!!!

 3. I forgot to rate this after I first made it. Excellent!

 4. I really enjoyed this bread. The only thing I will change next time is to make the slashes in the bread before I let it rise, when I slashed it after, my bread deflated like a balloon. I will also just do a wash with a little water. The egg white ran down a little so the bread was stuck to my pan. Great flavor, super easy recipe. Why buy bread when it's this easy to make homemade. Thanks so much for posting Chris!

 5. Oh my!!! I have never tried french bread...my family thought this was store bought! It was absolutely great. It was so easy to make, I will definately make it again and again!

 1. Finally a French bread I like! It came out perfect. There were no leftovers within an hour after dinner as my stepson and his friend ate the last three slices for a snack. The only change I made was that I used milk instead of the egg white (I was very low on eggs and needed them for breakfast). Also, the second proofing was about 20-30 minutes. Thank you. This is definitely a keeper.

I live in the Kansas City area and have many hobbies including cooking, reading and spending time with my husband and two children who are very active in sports now. I also have an eBay business which is a fun hobby that makes a little extra money! My interest in cooking focuses on making healthy dishes that are more satisfying than the higher fat and higher sugar versions. If I had a month off with no responsibilities, I would spend it at a luxury spa.
